Cuisine BBQ
Servings 4 spears asparagus per person
- asparagus 4 spears per person
- bacon, thinly sliced 4 slices per person
Preheat grill to 350°F degrees.
Trim the tough ends from asparagus spears.
If your asparagus spears are thick, lightly steam asparagus in the microwave until warmed through but not soft. Allow them to cool until you can handle them.
Wrap each spear with one slice of bacon. You can opt for half a slice per spear; it’s still wonderful and a little more budget friendly.
Using long bamboo skewers, assemble wrapped spears into “rafts” to keep them from falling through the grill grates and make them easier to turn.
Place on grill and cook until bacon is crisp.
OVEN DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.
You can follow the instructions as written using your broiler rather than the BBQ. The asparagus is semi-cooked already so you’re just cooking the bacon.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. If the bacon looks anemic, use the broiler to crisp and brown the bacon.
