The Burger

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 pounds ground beef (I use 80/20 in burgers)
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon bottled horseradish
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 burger buns

Here’s How:

  1. Fire up your BBQ or pre-heat your broiler. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Divide mixture into 4, 6 or 8 equal portions and form into patties.
  2. We have some variables in size here, so grill burgers until they reach your desired level of doneness. Due diligence – hamburger should cook to 160°F.
  3. In the last few minutes of cooking remove ¼ cup sauce from the pan and brush it on the burgers. Top with a slice of cheese and let it melt.  Toast buns if desired.
  4. To assemble your burgers; spread BBQ sauce on buns, place burger on bottom bun, add some caramelized onions and top with candied bacon.
  5. Devour.
