Should Chocolate Bar Ravioli be Illegal?

Here’s a swoon worthy recipe for deep frying chocolate bars at home! Complete with a crispy flakey wonton wrapper. Too good to be true – and totally cheap to make! This fast and easy dessert is done in literally fifteen minutes from start to finish.

 

Does Chocolate Bar Ravioli sound too good to be true?

Yes.

 

Would it be crispy on the outside, all chocloately melty gooey on the inside and served with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and ice cream.

Yes, I’m pretty sure it would be.

 

Did I just deep fry a chocolate bar in a wonton wrapper?

Yes.

 

Is this dessert scandalously delicious and dangerously easy to prepare, so much so that it should probably be against some kind of law???

Probably.

This fast and easy dessert is done in literally fifteen minutes from start to finish. Be careful as you’ll be frying these in hot oil. It’s not a recipe for the kiddies.

 

CHOCOLATE BAR RAVIOLI

 

What You’ll Need:

 

  • Wonton wrappers
  • Chocolate Candy bars – mini bars or cut up larger bars
  • Oil for frying – about 1/4 of an inch in a frying pan does up to ten ravioli
  • Sugar – powdered or granulated.

 

 

Here’s How:

 

Place your candy bars in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Get a plate lined with paper towels to drain the finished raviolis. Prep your serving plates too. You’ll need a small bowl with water to seal the wontons.

 

On the stove top, on medium heat, start the oil heating in your sauce pan, frying pan or vessel of choice.

 

I like to use a small pan and do them one at a time. You could use a larger pan and do 2 or 3 at a time but watch carefully as they cook fast and easily burn. Keep wonton wrappers in their plastic wrapper until ready to use.

 

Unwrap your candy bars. If you’re using large bars cut your chocolate bars into pieces that will fit into the wrappers.

 

Take two wontons and place one flat on your working surface. Place the candy bar piece in the center of the wrapper. Wet your finger in the water and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper. Place second wrapper on top and seal the edges together trying to get as much air out as possible. Make as many as you plan to serve.

 

When the temperature of the oil reaches 375, or when a test wonton wrap cooks to golden deliciousness in about 20 seconds – you’re ready to make magic. Start frying your wonton raviolis. Drop one in and wait for it to crisp up then turn it over. They take less than a minute so don’t walk away. When it’s crisp take it out to drain on the paper towel. Hit it with some powdered sugar when the wonton is still moist from the oil so it’ll stick. Serve immediately.

 

Which candy bars are best? Almond Joy, Mounds, Baby Ruth, Milky Way, Snickers, Hershey’s Chocolate, and Twix. Anything with caramel was a hit. Small Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups work if you freeze them for about 10 minutes. Don’t forget to take off the paper, you know who you are.

 

Less successful were; Butterfingers, when it gets hot it’s really chewy and not that great. Three Musketeers melted and completely deflated. They are just better as candy bars and not deep fried in a wonton.
